Parish Council
On our final Sunday of May we held a special meeting to elect a new Parish Council. I am really happy with the folk that were nominated to work with me in leading our church in this next season. Our three wardens are Karen Pyke (Parish Secretary), Ian House and Josh Smith. The remaining members of Parish Council are Dianne Ferguson (Safe Church Communities Coordinator), Jan & Paul Krom, Gaylene McIntosh and Jenny Poke (Treasurer). Please be upholding them in your prayers that God would grant our Parish Council wisdom to lead us well in being a church for Circular Head, making disciples of Jesus.

The Village
We have been talking for a while about wanting to find more ways to spend time together and forming deeper relationships. So a few folk came up with the idea of starting ‘The Village’. They say it takes a village to raise a child and so we want to start seeing the village gather together to form those deeper relationships across the generations and pass on wisdom to one another. Sometimes we will have meals together. Other times we might play board games. This is meant to be for everyone from 9 months old to 90 something years old. It is also a safe invite for some of your non church friends and families to come along to and make friends with other folk from our church. It is going to happen on the final Saturday evening of the month, stay tuned for more details about the first event on Saturday 29th June. For more details speak to Rhiannon Powell or Mikayla House

LEGO Kids Club
We have also been talking for some time now about starting an after school kids club to help us reach more young families in our community. Our hope is to start a LEGO club in Term 3. As the name suggests, this would be an after school primary aged kids club where you get to play games that revolve around building LEGO. We are also looking at finding some creative ways of telling the kids Bible stories by using LEGO.

To help get this started one of the more important things we need is… LEGO. If you have some LEGO you are no longer using lying about your house we would love it if you could donate it to the church. Otherwise if you are willing to give cash towards buying new LEGO this would also be appreciated.

There are lots of different ways to be involved. The basic starting place, if you are a parent or grandparent of primary school aged children then come along with them and see if you can bring some of your child’s friends too. We are looking for folk who will help lead the sessions even if this is not every-week. We are looking for folk to be a friendly face welcoming families at the door, or signing them in, or providing afternoon tea. I am sure there are lots of other ways of helping that will become clear as we begin. If you are interested then please speak to Gaylene, Lyn or Joel.
