MAS DFAB students, along with NCCR researchers, present the Concrete Choreography installation, the first robotically 3D printed concrete stage, consisting of columns fabricated without formwork and printed to full height within 2.5 hours.

KnitCandela Honoured by AZURE Magazine


Congratulations to the Block Research Group, the Chair of Physical Chemistry of Building Materials (Flatt group) and Zaha Hadid Architects on winning the People's Choice Award of Merit in the category "Best in Temporary and Experiential Installations" in the AZURE Magazine AZ Awards for their project, KnitCandela.

Socio-Economic Working Group Symposium

On 13th June, 28 representatives from academia, industry and the public sector participated in the first Socio-Economic Working Group (SEWG) symposium. The goal of this event was to initiate research on the impact of digitisation in architecture and construction in four major topics: society, environment, economy and policy. After a day of productive exchange the SEWG will now develop working papers and research strategy based on the symposium results.

Construction Professionals get a Digital Kick!


The Berner Fachhochschule offers a part-time CAS programme in "Digital Bauen, Planen, Nutzen" for construction professionals wishing to expand their working knowledge. The programme teaches methodical skills in digital planning and fabrication covering a range of construction processes. Applications for this year's intake are open until 01.08.2019.
