WELCOME TO THE CLUB

Welcome to AKP Club...happy to have you on board
Dear Friends and Supporters of AKP,

With much excitement, we welcome our latest institutional partner, the University of the Western Cape to AKP Club. Thank you for your subscription!

Hailing from South Africa, the university is located on Robert Sobukwe Road named after the late founder of the Pan Africanist Congress, which opposed the apartheid system, and championed black liberation.

Recognized internationally for its research, the University of the Western Cape is a public institution that is “... alert to its African and international context as it strives to be a place of quality, a place to grow. It is committed to excellence in teaching, learning and research, to nurturing the cultural diversity of South Africa and to responding in critical and creative ways to the needs of a society in transition.”

We give two big thumbs to the University of the Western Cape for joining the AKP Club. As South Africa is one of the inspirations behind the fictional country of Wakanda from the mega-blockbuster, Black Panther, the term Wakanda Forever is codified in the modern-day milieu, while culturally rooted in Africa, beaming with Africana pride, and with a suave black cool that has gone global and local all at the same time.

We thank our institutional partners because they make the business of publishing and disseminating knowledge of Africa and its diaspora possible. We thank them for believing in our mission and in journeying with us to present a balanced history of Africa and its people as we fight for Alkebulan. We recognize there is a lot of work ahead and we look forward to unveiling new issues.

Lastly, the institutional partnership supports the journals, and the nurturing and development of emerging thinkers, and early and mid-career scholars on their paths of research and publication.

We are greatly appreciative of all the support we get. We are very humbled by your reception of our work of decolonizing knowledge. We thank you. We love you.

With gratitude,
