CHESHIRE WEST & CHESTER CONTRACTORS - SHARPS WASTE COLLECTION
Please be reminded that Cheshire West and Chester Council have sent out a communication via PharmOutcomes regarding the Sharps Waste Collection contract.
If you would like to provide a sharps waste collection service you will need to read, sign and return a copy to the council.
If you work for a multiple please ensure that you follow your own defined process for signing up to a new contract.
NUMSAS (Repeat of Article from Last Week's Edition)
When NUMSAS started, any patient who needed an emergency supply when their GP surgery was open was referred back to their practice.
This has changed.
In-hours referrals for NUMSAS are now happening. Patients will not be referred to their GP practice if they contact NHS111 in-hours. Instead, the patient will be referred to a NUMSAS pharmacy. The emergency supply regulations allow for in-hours emergency supplies. Patients should not be refused on the grounds of their surgery being open and a supply via NUMSAS should be made as long as it is legally and clinically appropriate.

CONTRACTOR EVENT - SIMON DUKE PRESENTATION AND SPEECH NOW AVAILABLE TO VIEW
The LPCs in the Cheshire & Mersey area* recently organised a contractor event on the evening of Wednesday 5 June. All the LPCs were present and we were joined for a keynote speech by Simon Dukes, Chief Executive of PSNC who gave us insights and updates onto what's next for community pharmacy in England. We recorded his presentation and speech and are delighted to be able to share this for viewing by the contractors and pharmacy teams who were not able to join us on the evening.
We did have the opportunity for a Q&A session, however this was not able to be recorded due to the format of the event & room. The contact details on the final slide are live and any questions you may have for Simon he is encouraging you to ask via his chiefexec@psnc.org.uk email address.
* The Association of Mersey Pharmaceutical Committees consists of Community Pharmacy Cheshire and Wirral, Liverpool LPC, Halton St Helens & Knowsley LPC and Sefton LPC
