Team Warren’s new plan for tackling climate change gets both the urgency of the problem and America’s fighting spirit. For Team Warren, the point isn’t to mitigate, or to slow, or to lessen the impact of climate change. It’s to fight it. In a policy conversation crowded with Green New Deals, Team Warren looks to far more compelling historical analogues than the New Deal. SAN FRANCISCO, CA, JUNE 16, 2019- Otherlab spin-off, Treau has been awarded a $2.8M grant from the California Energy Commission to scale-up production of its low-emission heating and cooling system.
Treau's mission is to make homes and buildings more comfortable and healthy without compromising the environment.
Today, heating and cooling emissions account for about 20% of all greenhouse gas emissions, and use of air conditioning in buildings is set to triple in the next 3 decades due to urbanization, economic growth, and global warming.
"We appreciate the California Energy Commission's leadership and commitment to both reduce emissions and the health, safety, and welfare that energy services provide to people" noted Treau's CEO, Vince Romanin. "Our goal is that expansion in the use of air conditioning, and the associated benefits to health and productivity, happens in a way that also enables zero-carbon buildings.

The isothermal compressor team is making progress on the run-up to July's ARPA-E Summit in Colorado. This past Friday, the current prototype pressure test exceeded the previous by 22 psi.
