I'm learning a lot from my little lady, and this week she's gonna teach us all something good...
 

THIS WEEK'S INTENTION:

SCREAM YOUR HEART OUT


Maya's favorite thing to do right now is scream with her full body. I'm not talking tantrumming or crying. Just. SCREAMING. Her whole body will go tense and her face turns red. Then, it's just over and she smiles and laughs like it's the best thing in the world.
 

I'm thinkin' she's onto something.

Lately, I've been thrown a lot of things that are super duper frustrating, but completely out of my control. My inner control freak wants to throw a hissy fit, but my "nice girl" training says "shut it down, Clover!"
 

When I hold all my frustration inside, it festers and grows until it's a great big ball of nasty that usually explodes in a loved one's face from sheer proximity. No one feels good about that.


When I let the frustration out, however, I get to move on with my life sooner. Be it through movement, screaming into a pillow, journaling or talking it through with a friend, letting the frustration out is key to letting it go.
 

Your frustration's going to come out in one way or another. It's your choice whether it's productive or destructive.


So this week, before the frustrateys build up too high, scream your heart out! It can be:
  • actual screaming (into a pillow is usually best unless you like surprise visits from worried neighbors)
  • moving it out (running, jumping, lifting, slamming medicine balls, dancing, etc.)
  • journaling or talking it through (giving your frustration a voice in any way)
I'm talkin' real deal heart screams here. No polite, filtered niceties. Get raw and animalistic with these, baby! It works better that way. ;)
 

You know what's even better than heart screams? Heart screaming with other awesome people!

Welcome to the VIP section, babe! This is where I share my fav finds, happenings and thoughts from the week. Here's what's up in my world now:

Going with the flow - I'm adjusting quite a few things that I scheduled before I had Maya and it's so dang uncomfortable! People say "go with the flow" as if it's going to help people relax, but for people who have a hard time not being in control, it can be the hardest thing!

HIIT - I'm back into my HIIT workouts and I'm so happy about it!!! I've really missed HIIT. To be honest, I needed to take a long break from them in order to find a way to do them that wasn't performance health-fueled. Now, I'm much more in tune with when my body's ready to rock or done for the day. Plus, they work great with my schedule (or lack thereof ;)).

"What if it was easy?" - One of my best friends asked me this the other day when we were talking about a dilemma I was facing, and it's blowing my world right open. How can you use this to shift your mental optics on something that feels like a struggle right now?
