Those Who Mourn - Shirley Wig
June 12, 2019

The following notification is being sent from the Synod office on behalf of Bishop Larry.
Beloved of God,

May grace and peace be yours in abundance. (1 Peter 1:2a)

Together, as a Synod family, we are called to uphold in prayer family and friends who mourn the death of loved ones.

I invite your prayers for all who grieve the death of Shirley Wig, mother to Cathy Kochendorfer, who died Wednesday morning June 12 in Eastend, Sask.

At this time your prayers are much appreciated for those who grieve Shirley's death, including Cathy and Bishop Larry and their family.

"Lord, now let your servant go in peace for my eyes have seen your salvation" (Luke 2:29).

Rest eternal grant her, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon her.

Perhaps the following will guide our prayer:

Almighty God, we give you heartfelt thanks for the grace you have granted to Shirley Wig and to all who have finished their course in faith and now rest from their labours. Raise us with them from death to life, that when we die we may rest in our Redeemer, receive the inheritance prepared for us from the beginning of the word, and find perfect fulfillment and joy in your everlasting glory, through Jesus Christ, our Saviour and Lord. (ELW Pastoral Care, p. 279)

"The God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit" (Romans 15:13).

In Christ Jesus-
Shalom,
+ Larry
