A note from the (past) Director of the Center:
I’d like to introduce Bill Lee, the Center’s new Director. Bill is a former Kimberly-Clark Finance/Supply Chain/Strategy executive. I met Bill a number of years ago as he was interested in ways to help the program. That led to a teaching position in the new Masters in Supply Chain Management program, and ultimately adding the role of Center Director.
Bill brings significant real-world experience; was deeply engaged with Penn State’s Supply Chain program; enjoys the classroom; has worked with our program for more than a year; and, most importantly, likes to ‘move the needle’. As I have said many times, it is a great time to be in supply chain – and Bill has some equally great ideas about moving the program forward. From the new guy:
Thank you, Doug! It is my privilege to pick up the Center for Supply Chain Management from this point forward. Things are moving in a great direction and that’s fantastic. Breaking into the next level (i.e., top ten) will be a challenge, in part because of our size, but there are things we can do to elevate our position through even more industry engagement. One of my goals is to change perspectives on Supply Chain Management. After working in supply chain for many years, I have seen how individuals with supply chain knowledge and skills can bring value to many different types of organizations.
