Alum Treatment Update
The HAB crew doing the alum treatment experienced what ultimately turned out to be a relatively minor incident on day 1 of the Alum treatment.
This year the crew brought two boats to treat Cedar Lake. The first is the same barge used in 2017. The second vessel is a much smaller boat, the size of a small pontoon boat.
That second vessel experienced a crack in a pontoon which took on water. This resulted in the boat overturning.
Most importantly, the crew are safe! The crew lost about 1-hour of work and as of 12:30 pm were back on the job. HAB stated this will not affect the completion date or the Alum treatment plan.
The next meeting of the Cedar Lake Protection and Rehabilitation District Board will be on Tuesday, June 25th at 5:30 P.M. at the Alden Town Hall. It's open to the public and you are encouraged to attend. An agenda will be available shortly on our website.
The annual meeting of the Cedar Lake Protection and Rehabilitation District will be Saturday, August 3rd at the Town of Star Prairie Town Hall. You will receive a meeting notice in the mail in the next few weeks.
