Deacon Marcia & Her Family

Dear St. Patrick’s parishioners,

Thank-you for all your many notes and kindnesses especially this past week in sending me off with a grand coffee hour celebration!
Thank-you for your many contributions to the money purse given to help the transition to Michigan.
Your generosity is humbling to me.

Thank-you to St. Patrick’s for the Celtic cross necklace which I will wear close to my heart in loving and continued spiritual connection with St. Patrick’s parish and parishioners.

It has been my rich privilege to share life with you these past 7+ years, and my heart has grown because  of your love as we walk together to be servants of Christ.

I will keep you and St. Patrick’s in my prayers and in my grateful thanksgivings the rest of my life.

With you in God’s love and service,

Deacon Marcia Tyriver

Each attendee will receive a workbook which will guide you in your organizing. An electronic fill-in-the-blank version will also be available.
A light lunch will follow the workshop.

Sonoma County United in Kindness

Communities like ours around the country-and around the world- are gathering in solidarity to denounce acts of violence and hate. An urgency for peace and reason is bubbling up like a geyser ready to burst in a powerful show of force for change.

The Interfaith Council of Sonoma County, Of One Soul, invites you to take part in a campaign titled, “Sonoma County United in Kindness”. It is time to stop violence with tangible acts of kindness and build good will, harmony and kindness. This campaign is non-denominational and not political but humanitarian!
Please access the website to read the action plan and then sign the Declaration, InterfaithSonoma.org/Declaration, either online or print out a form, sign it and leave it at St. Patrick’s. If you have any question, please contact the program organizers by email at Unitedinkindness@interfaithsonoma.org

Step forward now to create a safer, more humane and joyful community for ourselves and our children!
For this coming Sunday, St. Patrick’s is thankful for Susan Boak & Hutch Gibb for hosting coffee hour after the 8:30 service. We would also like to thank Dorothy Mills for hosting the coffee hour after the 10:30 service. We appreciate each of you!
If you would like to host a coffee hour, contact Dorothy Mills. You may talk with her or sign up in Stevenson Hall. The Parish enjoys this time after each service on Sunday mornings and it means so much for each volunteer to be a part of it. Thanks so much!

In addition, when a bishop is consecrated, it is customary for them to receive gifts of different types that will be used in their ministry. These gifts often include the following: vestments, a mitre (the pointy hat worn by a bishop), a crozier (the staff that is a symbol of the bishop's office), an episcopal ring and more!

You are being offered an opportunity to donate toward diocesan gifts for Bishop-Elect Megan. You can donate here (select the "Bishop-Elect Gifts" button): bit.ly/bishopelectgifts

Where are we in the transition to a new bishop?
We have successfully elected The Rev. Canon Megan Traquair to be 8th bishop here. We are planning and preparing for her consecration on June 29, 2019, pending consents from across the wider church and subsequent approval from the Presiding Bishop's office.

Our journey through this transition has carried us to the place where we intentionally and joyfully celebrate the ministry and gifts of Bishop Barry and his episcopate in this diocese.

We ask you now to send photos of your church, ministries and people, as well as cards, notes, and stories about the way that Bishop Barry has blessed you during his time as a bishop to communications@norcalepiscopal.org. Photos and notes will be included in a memory book for him. Please include your church name and city in the subject line.

The diocese is also giving Bishop Barry and Rev. Ann a trip to begin their life in retirement together. Donate here: https://goo.gl/DRQ1Me  Donors will be recognized.

O God, by your grace you have called us in this Diocese to a
goodly fellowship of faith. Bless our Bishop Barry, Bishop-elect Megan, other clergy, and all our people. Grant that your Word may be truly preached and truly heard, your Sacraments faithfully administered and faithfully received. By your Spirit, fashion our lives according to the example of your Son, and grant that we may show the power of your love to all among whom we live; through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Amen.

Do you have a guitar or banjo or ukulele or another stringed instrument?
Are you interested in becoming more proficient?  If so, we need your talents!  We are putting together a music group with FREE lessons, taught by John Waltz.

Our goal is to “grow our own” group to add joyful worship to our services and to help the congregation learn to sing with us, particularly at the earlier service.  We’ll be learning worship songs from a variety of sources.

Lessons will be every 2-3 weeks, with practices in between as schedules allow. Time & place to be determined, depending on the interest and where people live.

For more information, and to sign up please contact Kate Aldrich at kaldrich@sonic.net or call 539-9603.

Last Tuesday, Beth B, Dennis M, Denise M, Brad and Barbara S, Renee (driver) and I helped Redwood Empire Food Bank distribute what seemed like TONS of a huge variety of meats, milks, veggies, snacks, fruits, and breads to 29 families!
Most were "repeaters"
(a good thing) but some were first timers!

Our present goal is 30 families - we are SO close!

Rest well, knowing some are NOT going to bed hungry for the next many days!

Redwood Empire Food Bank volunteers meet every 1st & 3rd Tuesdays of the month from 5PM- 6PM.
