when science fiction writer Michael Blumlein comes to read from his marvelous novel, Longer (Tor Books, 2019), with jazz piano interludes by his friend and fellow author Carter Scholz. Just since recently retiring from a long and distinguished career in medicine, throughout which he published much lauded work, Michael has seen two story collections and this novel into print.
