A Voice for the Indigenous

ANAJURE, a Brazilian National organization of Christian Attorneys, organized a conference on religious freedom, freedom of expression, and conscientious objection. Participants were Brazilian political leaders, religious organizations and even ambassadors from other nations where religious persecution is prevalent. Two state department heads, Sérgio Moro and Damares Alves, made presentations about some of the things they are working on to remove corruption from Brazilian politics, fight organized crime, and defend human rights and religious freedom for all. Several directors of religious organizations, including Craig, were invited to participate in a panel discussing the legal challenges and obstacles we face in preaching the gospel, primarily to unreached indigenous peoples. ANAJURE and members of the Bolsonaro (Brazilian president) administration oppose government restrictions on access to unreached people groups and agreed to work to remove unnecessary restrictions that hinder the ability of religious organizations to express and share their faith with all Brazilians.

Mission Vision Statement:
Recife Redemptive Ministry exists to reach the poorest of the poor with the saving grace of Jesus Christ seeing entire communities transformed holistically, for God's glory, and by our lifestyle and strategies train and equip local churches throughout Recife to do likewise.

Teaching
Craig has been teaching a lot this year; JOCUM, Ami and in the local church. We are grateful for these opportunities to share the gospel and invest in Bible school students and leaders of the local church.
Craig has also been teaching English! With the start of English classes at the mission headquarters, Craig and Mary have been sharing responsibilities in the English classroom. While we are building relationships with these young people, we are also preparing them for "English online" classes in the mission computer lab.

"We love because he first loved us."

More Teaching...at the sewing machine!
After Bible study time together on Friday afternoons, the teenage girls have taken on the sewing challenge with Tia Mary and they are doing GREAT...so proud of these girls!
What a joy to gather the ladies for a special day celebrating them!
Miriam...84 years old and still making music!
She's amazing!
The only place she will record is in our studio with Djaniro.

Prayer Requests:

*Please Pray for our family, Genn and Keenen (newly married and medical school) and Shelby (in Ghana for UTK study abroad/
internship program).

*Please Pray for our South America Mission/TEAM field conference in June.
*Please Pray for the Dois Unidos Community; spiritual and physical needs. Brazil's troubled economy is taking its toll on already poverty stricken areas.
*Prayers of Praise and Preparation for upcoming work teams; for the mission team participants as well as preparations on the field.
*Prayers of Gratitude for our family, friends, and churches. We are so grateful for your love and support that makes it possible for us to continue serving God on the mission field.
Thank You!
