I had no idea that being my authentic self could make me as rich as I’ve become. If I had, I would have done it a lot earlier.” -- Oprah Winfrey

Hello Ladies,

I hope you had a good week! The Sales are on (hi Net-A-Porter & Matches) so it may be a tough month unless you budgeted for them already, in which case it should make you soooo happy!

I spent the weekend in a castle in France with about 40 other startup founders from The Family (a platform for entrepreneurs). The format? An “unconference”, i.e. a sort of conference where all attendees are actually also the speakers. When we arrived we had to pitch one subject we know well and can teach others - no real preparation or slides, just best practices, practical tips. I talked about “building a community” with the girls from Fempo - the awesome period panty.

What have I learnt about? Managing a remote team, mental health for founders, balancing work as a founder, communicating, PR, marketing tips… and the energy, guys!! It was great!! I am ready for what comes next!

Today we are talking about the “buy now pay later” trend and how the government is banning firms from charging interest on loans that were repaid during the offer period. We are also featuring another anonymous money story… cos we know you love them.

👀 PRESS PRESS PRESS We are in GoodHouseKeeping: “5 money books everyone should read this summer”, thank you Kalpana Fitzpatrick. Simon Cocking published a review of You’re Not Broke You’re Pre-Rich in Irish Tech News: “Wisely though it first asks you to consider why you need it, what it is useful for, and to remember that it should only be a means to an end, rather than an end in of itself.”

If you’re an online shopper, you have probably seen the name “Klarna” popping up on the payment pages of sites like TopShop and JDSports. It’s a lending bank branding itself as a smart, funky new payment option for those of us who just can’t wait til payday to buy that new pair of trainers.
