To mark the choir's tenth anniversary, Russkaya Cappella will present an evening of Russian choral masterpieces rarely performed in the UK.

For the first time ever in Scotland we shall be performing the cantata John of Damascus by Sergei Taneyev (1884), the famous Russian composer with Scottish forebears.

Our programme will include religious and secular music by Rachmaninoff, Tchaikovsky, Kastalsky, Gretchaninoff, Chesnokov as well as composers of the Russian Diaspora for a cappella choir.

Pianist Ivan Penev will perform Dumka by Tchaikovsky and Rachmaninoff's Moment Musical No. 3.

It will be held on 22nd of June 2019, 6.00 pm, at the Glasgow University Chapel.

Tickets not required: donations gratefully received.

Come to Praise Gathering 2019 on 22nd & 23rd June in the Glasgow Royal Concert Hall.
Come hear a 400 voice choir from over 150 Scottish churches, live band, PG Youth Choir, and special guests. More info at www.praisegathering.org.uk
