Waitsfield Elementary School Rocks!

June 13,  2019
It is a spectacular group of 6th grade students that we will be celebrating at graduation this evening.

Dear Friends and Families,
This evening we will honor the 19 students who are moving on from our school community. While these students have been with us for varying lengths of time (some of them for nine years!) all of them, and their families, have shaped the community and culture of our school.  They have shared their creativity, their energy, their questions, their challenges and their friendship with us all and we too have grown with them. All are invited to join tonight's celebration and honor these young people as they prepare to embark on their next adventure.  The ceremony begins at 6pm, at the school, followed by a reception hosted by the 5th grade families.
You are also invited to join us for a brief final assembly tomorrow (Friday) at 7:50 am and/or our end of the school day (early dismissal) cheering gauntlet tradition. Before our early dismissal (12:10), we line the halls to cheer on our 6th graders (and "graduating" staff) for their final walk through the halls as WES students. Please plan to arrive by 12:05 to join this fun tradition.
Families, please look for report cards coming home with K-6th grade students Friday. Next year's class lists will be mailed home that same day.
Thank you all once again for sharing the children of this community with all of us. It is a responsibility we take quite seriously-- and also deeply enjoy. While I look forward to the change of pace and "reset" provided by school summer break, I am also already looking forward to the opportunities of next school year. May your summer be rich with time (and weather!) to do those things that don't happen so easily during the school year:  spend lots of time together as a family, play outside all day and fully take advantage of this lovely place we live.
Respectfully,    Kaiya Korb
