MotoFest massive successes
|
|
What a wonderfully successful MotoFest we had! There were over 230,000 general visitors to the festival, and over 330 Christians came together on the Sunday morning to worship together, pray for them and witness to them. Over in the HOPE@MotoFest family tent, children decorated biscuits, did crafts, parents chatted and learned about HOPE Coventry, and 436 faces were painted by fabulous volunteers. A big thank you is welldeserved to all those who helped out or came along! Most importantly, once again we saw our City being blessed, and that was the best feeling of all.

How's your church leadership team doing?
|
|
PCCs (Parochial Church Councils) are crucial bodies in the leadership of Anglican churches. Yet not all PCCs function as well as they might, and many people who serve on PCCs find the experience a tedious one. CPAS is running an event to clarify the purpose and place of PCCs, to explore some common dysfunctions, and to introduce material you can use to shape its life. The event runs from 7.45pm-9.45pm, doors open at 7.15pm for refreshments. The fee for attending this event is £12 for the first booking, £3 for each additional member from your PCC. See their website for more: https://www.cpas.org.uk/events-and-programmes/details/3195#.XQJ6QohKjIU.

Coventry Jesus Centre is NOT closing
It is being reported by the BBC and other media outlets that the Jesus Centres are closing, along with the closure of the Jesus Fellowship Church. The Trustees of the Jesus Centres Trust would like to make it clear that this is not accurate. For the Jesus Centres around the country, the work continues and is more necessary than ever in the face of the many homeless, vulnerably housed and socially isolated people who come to us for support in the absence of adequate provision elsewhere.
For more details, see the press release.

Carriers of Hope is a Locally based Coventry Charity that has been dedicated to providing support since 2009 to Asylum seekers, refugees and European Migrant families, living in Coventry, we currently have 450 families in membership, from sixty-three different countries. Our Aim is to provide hope, friendship and practical and emotional support through a range of services offered by our staff and volunteers.
We are planning to host an Information Market Stall Event on Wednesday 10th July, for our staff, volunteers and clients, by inviting key Partner Agencies. We warmly invite you to join us and to take part in enabling and supporting our Refugee, Asylum and Eastern European Migrant families in need. The aim of the event is reduce barriers and to ensure our families, staff and volunteers gain knowledge of other local key services and how the families can access these, should they need to.
We believe this is best done in a venue they are used to attending and where they feel comfortable.
This Event will take place at Hillfields Church, Waterloo Street CV1 5JS, where we hold our regular Tuesday morning Circle of Friends sessions. We will provide you with light refreshments and you will be allocated a space/ table to showcase your services. Please feel free to bring along a range of literature, visual materials and props to promote your service.
We really hope you are able to join us to promote your services to our vulnerable families. We cannot achieve this without the support of our partner agencies in helping engage in Coventry’s vision to become a Migrant Friendly City by working in Partnership.
Please could you confirm your attendance at this Event by emailing meena@carriersofhope.org.uk
