In Loving Memory
Longtime Kiwanian, Homer Yeannakis  passed away June 12th  in Virginia.  He was president of our club in 2000-2001 and could always be found helping with our race or pancake breakfasts.  He will be missed.

Our club presented bikes to a 4th grader and kindergarten student at Johnston who were chosen from all of the students who had good behavior the entire year.
          Keep Collecting During the Summer!
Johnston is collecting box tops which earn money for their school!    Many products you buy have them.  Click here to see a list.  There will be a jar at the check in table.  Bring any box tops you've collected during the week, and we will deliver them to  Johnston when school starts back in the fall.
We had a great group working at the Tourist game on Thursday night!
There was a nice article in the Mountain Express about the formation of our club 100 years ago.  The writer didn't get the date of our charter correct, but he did reference many things that were published in the Asheville Citizen 100 years ago about the Kiwanis Club. Read the article here
Blast From the Past
Our 100 year gala will be September 21 at Lutheridge.  We are in the process of getting some sponsors.  We are trying to reach out to organizations that Kiwanis has helped in the past as well as other businesses that want to support our mission.  If you have any ideas, or know of any former Kiwanians with a business that might like to be a sponsor, please let us know or take sponsorship information to them.

Print a copy of the sponsorship information here.

We will also be having a silent auction that night to raise money for our division playground at Eliada Home.  Please help us gather items such as tickets, gift certificates, art work, or anything that might bring in some money at the auction.  Ask for a gift card donation at your favorite restaurant, or ask a business you frequent to donate something.

Print a copy of the invitation/flyer to take to businesses to ask for donations for our silent auction or give to someone you want to invite to the gala.

The deadline for the sponsors, auction and RSVP will be August 10th!  Buy your ticket here
