Reminder - AGM and Speaker on Gilmerton Cove
Margaretann Dugan of Rosslyn Tours - The Mystery of Gilmerton Cove - See Poster
We have a very special Speaker for this year’s AGM. Margaretann Dugan has been running local visitor attraction Gilmerton Cove with Gilmerton Heritage Trust since 2009. The history of Gilmerton Cove goes back more than 200 years.
So, come along and join us for a fascinating talk on one of Scotland’s most special visitor attractions and one that’s here on your doorstep. We’re aiming to organise our own history walk during this year’s ‘Doors Open’, so there will be more history on the agenda as we develop More information about historical sites in and around the park.
An agenda for the AGM will be distributed on te night, and we will be electing the office bearers. The meeting is open to everyone, you don’t have to have been a member of the group, or been out on any activities.

Stop Press - Our New Posters
We’ve been working with the council to get some new metal posters up that highlight the partnership between the Friends group and the council to look after the park. The council staff have been great, supplying the metal and giving us advice and help to to get them up. They should appear from today, so keep an eye out for them. As we get more cash we’ll hopefully install more throughout the park.
These were inspired by the excellent signs put up by the council during the joint local anti litter campaign that took place last year. Those signs are still up and working, and hopefully these new ones will help get the message through to encourage more people to look after the park.
