June 15 | ASC Culture Blocks: Visual Arts Workshop

The Art and Science Council will provide a visual art workshop series at Beatties Ford Library, with a different project activity at each workshop. Accompanying the art-making experience will be live music performed throughout the workshop. These two-hour workshop experiences will be intended for families and appropriate for all ages. Come on out and get your exercise on at the McCrorey YMCA during the Blacktop Bootcamp. It will be on June 15th at 9:30am. See you there! 

June 17 | Carolina Raptor Center - Raptors Inspires

Live birds of prey will help you discover their kinship with native wildlife and humans. Learn what makes raptors unique in the avian world and explore what actions can be taken to make a difference for wildlife and our environment. More information>>

June 17 | RCLM37 Beat Biography 

Johnson C. Smith University in partnership with Beatties Ford Road Regional Library presents a RCLM 37 event, Beat Biography. Beat Biography is an hour and a half workshop pairing the practice of oral history with trap, gospel, and house beat making. This workshop invites teens to tell us their story through music. Council Member Dimple Ajmera will host a town hall connecting residents with city contracting resources, including:

June 19 | Welcome Wednesday at McCrorey YMCA 

Welcome Wednesday is a FREE guest day, for the community! Families and friends that do not have a membership at the Y, can visit the McCrorey YMCA (3801 Beatties Ford Rd, Charlotte) for free, all day (with an ID)! We will have group exercise classes, access to the fitness center, childcare, the pool, food vendors, music and more!
