Playa Drain Trail Improving Health 

Mr. Charles Ortiz is one of the many residents in the community who is using the Playa Drain Trail for his health. Diagnosed with diabetes, his doctor recommended that he have a more balanced diet and regular exercise. The Playa Drain Trail has provided a great way to enjoy daily physical activity and a safe way to get around the neighborhood. To stay up-to-date with future trails in El Paso County, visit pasodelnortetrail.org.

New Grants to Support Healthy Eating and Active Living

The Paso del Norte Health Foundation recently awarded 12 grants totaling more than $1.9 million under the Healthy Eating and Active Living Priority Area – HEAL Initiatives.

Tobacco 21 Goes into Effect on September 1

SB 21, or Tobacco 21, raises the minimum legal age in Texas to purchase tobacco from 18 years to 21 years. Tobacco 21 also makes changes to how tobacco sales to minors are enforced.
