Announcements & News - 6/14/19

Dear IHS 1964 Classmates,

The countdown is in full swing .......
  • 29 more days to the Reunion Weekend
  • 20 more days to register (JULY 3 is the deadline for us --  to be able to process the numbers and final plans and to give the hotel their final number the following Monday).
  • While the deadline has passed to get the discounted rate for the hotel rooms, you can still get a room but it will be at the regular hotel rate
When we finalized our menu (the earlier cost was a tentative one as they have to wait to see current food market prices -- and it did go up --  17 cents per person) last week , we found out that they changed the ballroom for our Saturday night event from the Cypress II to the Premier II.  It is in the same hallway as all the ballrooms and is just across from the original one.  Our Friday Night event is still in the Natchez room.  Visit ihs1964.com/reunions.html for details.

Help for parking:  Facing the hotel, for the Friday night event, it's to the right of the foyer and there is a smaller  parking area on that side with an end hallway door.  For the Saturday night event, the ballroom is  to the left of the foyer and there is a large parking area by the doors opening into the ballroom wing.  And of course, you can always enter through the main lobby doors and go either way.  There should be a sign directing you or you can ask at the front desk.

Our classmates' accomplishments (it is NOT bragging at our age)  / interesting facts ...are trickling  in -- please let us know what has been going on for these past 55 years -- professionally or personally -- or let us know what a classmate has done.

We know that we have some professional degrees, some military honors or designations, some longevity at certain jobs or certain positions held at a job (didn't we have a plant  manager of a large industry ??,  a judge?,  we heard someone wrote a book), anyone do  marathon running in the earlier years -- or maybe someone is involved in senior athletic events?  What hobbies are you interested in or have done in the past?   What about some of the accomplishments of our children/ grandchildren -- we certainly had a part in their success!!  Who has survived natural disasters such as floods, being caught in a hurricane or traumatic events like fires?   How many have  started downsizing, living in a retirement community -- or maybe found a whole box of War Whoops,  and senior  year memorabilia in their attic recently when cleaning out  ...?   Is anyone into genealogy and found some interesting facts about your ancestors (or maybe some surprises!!).

Put on your thinking caps!  AND YES -- living 73 years or so is an accomplishment in itself -- many of us probably never thought we would be "this old?"  Send these interesting facts to our class email (ihs64@yahoo.com) , Lydia (alpha32828@gmail.com) or Carolyn (cpellender@yahoo.com).  [Please
use one of these email links. DO NOT USE "REPLY TO" this message in your email program. Thanks! ]

Send us your data for our database

We  published a 50th Reunion Booklet that was given out to everyone at the July event and wanted to include as many listings as possible. If you weren't listed or want to change data - addresses, phone numbers, family info, and what you've been doing.  Many of you have been contacted recently via phone or email by the Reunion Committee and we have up to date reports.  However, there area a lot of folks with old data on file, so if you haven't already done so, please send us your data using our convenient new online form or the traditional printed "snail mail" version.  We would hope that most folks will use the online form since it reduces the amount of typing the committee volunteers have to do!

Visit the 50th Reunion Page  http://ihs1964.com/register.html

Missing Indians

We've maintained and updated the classmates list from our 45th reunion and will use it and recent information to keep our database current. A list of "Missing Indians" has been posted and will be updated each week as we find people and move them to the "found" list. With just a few months left, we'll need help from volunteers. Please help us find the missing classmates and faculty members.

Send photos and news

In case you haven't visited our Gallery Pages, there are many photos there that classmates have scanned and emailed to us for everyone to see.  Send us your photos along with captions.  Scan at 300 dpi or less to keep the size down.  Send to ihs1964@yahoo.com  .

Everyone likes to read news about their friends from school, especially if they are out of touch or far away. So, send us news to include on our website.  Just email to ihs1964@yahoo.com .
