ShelterTech is an award-winning non-profit solving the biggest technology challenges faced by people experiencing homelessness. They're doing great work and are aiming to solve the biggest technology challenges faced by the homeless community.

Please join us to meet their volunteer staff and join them in a discussion to learn more about ShelterTech's mission! Hopefully, after listening to the presentation you would also be moved to join their cause in championing digital solutions for the homeless community!

Register or Volunteer

Volunteering is easy. I need help with check-in, keeping refreshments and food stocked and replenished as needed, and maybe a mic runner for Q&A.

Also, please help spread the word by giving us a retweet from this link: https://twitter.com/SFTech4Good/status/1139623527005376512! You can also share on Facebook here and LinkedIn here.

Thanks, and see you on the 27th!

Techtonica is Seeking Mentors
Techtonica is a rigorous, six-month training program followed by job placement for Bay Area women and non-binary adults with low incomes. Our apprentices will benefit from the experience, insight, and support of someone who understands their desire to become software engineers and has successfully achieved that goal themselves. To improve our apprentices’ probability of success, we pair them with a mentor who can serve in the following roles:
- Advisor – Mentors share their professional wisdom, give feedback on projects, and are available to be a sounding board for apprentices’ ideas.
- Role Model – A mentor’s insight into their professional journey helps our apprentices see their own path into a new career.
- Supporter – Learning to code can be a difficult and frustrating endeavor. It is incredibly important to have a mentor who listens with a sympathetic ear, acknowledges disappointments, and celebrates triumphs.
