Parasitic Plant - California Dodder
Laurel Canyon Crime Statistics
LCA supports Los Angeles native trees and shrubs as the City adds to their list of those protected.
Have you seen this in your hillside? Curious what it is? This is the California dodder, a native plant that's parasitic. Resembling a pile of yellow-orange straw, it wraps tightly around its host plant and takes nutrition directly from them via a haustorium. Despite that, it is pretty harmless.
