Different name.  Growing mission.
June/July 2019

What's new?  Name change.

What an exciting ride these past three and a half years have been!  As we look back, it is hard to believe how God has blessed us and how our ministry continues to grow. We’ve had the privilege of helping many churches, in the Midwest and beyond, strengthen their DNA in missions through numerous conversations, mission conventions, stewardship teachings, meetings, mission trips and many other venues.  It’s been fun!  This is what we prayed and planned for.   We’ve also had some exciting additions (see below).  In light of that, we wanted a name that quickly identified what we do. So…we’re changing from MAD to Missions Cultivators, helping grow missions in the local church.  Whatever we do, our end game is lifting Jesus up so that He may be known among the nations!!

What's new?  Working with MA's.

About 8 months ago we became aware of a need to help encourage and mentor missionary associates (MAs) in the process of itineration.  This can be a very challenging and lonely time.  We began inviting them to our home for monthly meetings to enjoy a home cooked meal together, encourage each other and talk about fundraising strategies. But the favorite part of the evening is our prayer times together.  Each missionary unit is prayed for by the others.  We’ve had some real God moments during this time!  So far, we’ve had a hand in sending off a family to the Czech Republic, and two ladies, one to El Salvador and the other to Indonesia.   It’s been wonderful!

What's new?  Working with business women.

We’ve also had another wonderful opportunity, helping a group of business women learn to live missionally in their lives, with their influence and businesses.  We recently had the privilege of investing in some of them during a retreat!  We’re totally excited about working with these women to realize their potential in Christ and see their capacity for influence from the platform He has given them!

Prayers received, prayers offered.  Impacting the world.

In May, we finally met two of our faithful prayer warriors, Loren & Susu Knox, from Maranatha Chapel in Evergreen Park.  Since 1994, they have headed up a small, but powerful, group of faithful intercessors who weekly pray for missionaries.  It was an honor to meet them and to personally thank them for their investment in us through prayer!  True unsung heroes!!

On April 2nd we were praying for several of our partner churches as we drove down the highway.  Because of an accident, we came to a halt.  We knew one of our partners was undergoing a chemo treatment on that very day and we wanted to pray for them over the phone.  However, we didn't want to add any unwanted pressure, so we texted them asking if they wanted us to call and pray for them over the phone.  As our text went out, one came in from them asking if we were heading south on Highway 55.  We realized we were both stuck in traffic on the highway right next to each other!!  We rolled down our windows and had a mini prayer meeting right there on the highway.  I just love how God works!  Surprising us by how much He cares while reminding us that every prayer makes a difference.
