Happy Sunday!
Raise your hand if you the recipe for feeling like your best self, and yet, you often still don't choose to do the things that work for you. 🙋♀️🙋♀️🙋♀️
I was telling my coach about my routine of snoozing my alarm and her advice really clicked for me. She said for me to write on a sticky note "I am committed to myself" and put it on top of my phone. So when my alarm goes off in the mornings, I have to move that sticky note in order to press snooze. ⏰
I can't shake that idea, because anytime I snooze, or decide not to workout, or decide not to take a break when I need one, or whatever it is that I know I need to be my best self in that moment, I'm choosing to NOT commit to myself. I'm flaking on my promise to my earlier self. I'm choosing the easier, safer, more comfortable path. And it doesn't feel good.
When we choose the safe route over and over again, after we tell ourselves that we're going after our goals, we start to not trust ourselves. We start thinking that we're lazy or we believe that we couldn't possibly do it.
Here's the thing: Once you keep committing to your promises to yourself (and you won't always because you're human!), you will start to see the potential within yourself. You'll start having confidence in areas that you never believed you were capable of. 👌
It happens slowly, but before you know it, you'll feel like a entirely new version of yourself –– the kind of person you can count on. And that, my friend, is the ultimate life goal.
I'm working on this, and I hope you do too, because we all deserve to feel good about ourselves and the lives we choose to create. I want that for us.
Have a great week!
Until next Sunday,
