Adding Biographies of Female and Minority Scientists to Wikipedia Daily

Did you know only 17% of biographies on Wikipedia in English are of women? In the last 2 years British physicist Dr. Jessica Wade has added over 700 biographies of female and minority scientists to increase that percentage, and counting.

Startup Outsmarts Germany’s Sexist Tax System with The Tampon Book

In Germany female sanitary products attract the top value added tax rate of 19 % while luxury goods like flowers or truffles are taxed with the reduced rate of 7 %. Crazy AF right? Anni and Sinja, The Female Company’s founders, are taking a stand against this unfair taxation by selling tampons hidden in a book. Go queens!

📢 A Bit of History 📢

Söre Popitz - Bauhaus student & graphic designer

She enrolled in the Bauhaus in 1924 and left after one semester at the school. Since the Bauhaus encouraged women to go into weaving and textile design, as opposed to the male dominated fields of architecture and graphic arts, leaving early is probably the reason why she could pursue a career as a graphic designer.
