CIMA Certificate in Business Accounting Qualification

With the continued aim of supporting the SME community in DLR, we are delighted to partner with the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) to offer a 17% discount on the Certificate in Business Accounting Qualification in a highly flexible format. This is a unique offering to SME companies and their employees in DLR and is the first time CIMA has partnered with a support agency globally to provide this incentive to raise the financial skills of its SME population.

Many SME owners do not have good financial literacy, lacking the skills and confidence to make important business decisions that will impact them and their company. This is a practical and broad course aimed at owner managers/key employees of SMEs who want to learn best practice in the areas of:

  • Business Economics
  • Management Accounting
  • Financial Accounting
  • Fundamentals of Ethics, Corporate Governance and Business Law

On successful completion of the four subject examinations, students are awarded the CIMA Certificate in Business Accounting, and can use the designatory letters CIMA Cert BA after their name.

Support Scheme for Renewable Heat - 2nd phase open for applications

The Support Scheme for Renewable Heat is now open for applications.

Businesses that install an eligible biomass, biogas or CHP system will receive an ongoing quarterly payment for 15 years based on how much heat they create and consume.

The tariff is available to businesses in the commercial, industrial, agricultural and public sector and other non-domestic heat users. This includes hotels and leisure centres, office buildings, farms, agri-business and industrial processes.

Benefits for businesses
  • Businesses spend a significant amount of money on heating. Switching to a renewable heating system can help them save money and make their business more resilient to rising energy costs.
  • The tariff is a very attractive financial incentive.
  • It will help businesses reduce their carbon footprint.
  • Customers are embracing green business, and it is increasingly important for businesses to show that they are taking steps to improve their sustainability.
In addition, this support offers new opportunities for business and the agri-sector, and offers the potential to develop local and sustainable supply chains for biomass in Ireland. Businesses that buy their biomass fuel locally, will be directly supporting the local economy as well as businesses and communities in the local area.
