How do you find the mythical "intrapreneur"?

They are the fabled ones. The employees who take ownership, try new things, and go in over their heads for the good of the company.

Find a team of intrapreneurs, and your chances of a successful business just skyrocketed.

That was the topic - among many others - that digital dragon Nicole Verkindt and I chatted about during our conversation. She sounded off on how to have "adult conversations" with employees and told me about her '12 angry men'. It's well worth a read.

Interestingly, intrapreneurship is talked about a lot, but rarely is the word used. For example, Verkindt talked about finding employees who are "entrepreneurs within a company". Another founder I interviewed - Marie Chevrier from Sampler - talks about employees "taking ownership".

On the corporate side, PwC executive Diane Kazarian talks about "empowerment" and setting up her team to do creative and wonderful things.

Different words, different people, same meaning: intrapreneurship.

It's because of this that our conversation with Nicole Verkindt is this week's feature story.
Feature story: How Nicole Verkindt aced prioritization and found intrapreneurs
Two businesses later, Nicole Verkindt is still learning as she goes.

But what she's gotten great at is identifying who deserves resources and which people should be part of the organization.
