Pastor's Devotional...
June 13, 2019

The Incredibles 2 is the focus for our “God in the Movies” messages this week. We are all called by God to be superheroes right where we live, work and play. The story of King Saul’s son and David’s close friend Johnathan (I Samuel 14) is an incredible example for all of us! Against overwhelming odds, he achieved victory in a small battle that inspired an even greater victory by Israel’s army.
How? The clue is in his words, “Nothing can hinder the Lord from saving, whether by many or few.” A passionate conviction and trust in God’s goodness, protection and power grants super powers to any believer.
Are you facing an incredible challenge right now? Jonathan and his armor bearer surprised and overwhelmed their enemy by attacking through nearly impossible terrain, (found themselves between a rock and a hard place in today’s lingo!) Remember, nothing will hinder the Lord from saving you. Just keep moving forward and be open to the surprising ways God will respond! (Read the story! It will lift your spirits!)
Prayer: Holy Spirit, make me a superhero that will glorify God and in my life may others find courage for meeting their challenge! I’m grateful You come alive in those “between a rock and a hard place” times! In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
Don’t miss our Donuts for Dad’s Father’s Day services this weekend!
Sunday, June 16th we will celebrate Father’s Day with ‘Donuts for Dad’! Bring your father for sweet treats and a word for dads about being Incredible 2!
