Join DC Audubon for a BIRD-themed trivia night and happy hour at Petworth’s Reliable Tavern. We will meet in the basement bar, and happy hour is from 5:30-9:00pm. Trivia will begin at 6:30pm. Let's Go Birding Together!
June is Pride Month, and DC Audubon is joining National Audubon in celebrating with Let's Go Birding Together bird walks and other LGBTQ inclusive activities. Let's Go Birding Together walks are for everyone who loves birds and the outdoors. We welcome those who identify as LGBTQ, allies, families, and anyone who wants to enjoy an outdoor experience that is inclusive.
We will look for some of DC's few resident Wild Turkeys as well as many nesting forest birds including DC's official bird, the Wood Thrush.
This 376 acre wooded National Park Service property is one of the largest green spaces in DC, an important area for the health of the Anacostia watershed, and off the beaten trail enough that it remains relatively unexplored.
As always, please be mindful of weather conditions, dress and hydrate appropriately, and use caution when traveling to new or unfamiliar birding locations. Registration will go live two weeks before the event here.
