What's up on APN for the first week of June

This week we're going to lead with the episode guide, because it's nice to change it up now and then, no?

Collage of APN members, affiliates and sponsors
This week's roundup includes two crossovers, with Mary and Amanda from Tomato Radio turning up on the Mess Hall Podcast, and Josh and Alan from Press Start to Join making an appearance on the Northern Nerdcast. We love it when that happens.

We've put together four playlists for you this week, featuring Alberta Stories, Entertainment, Learning and Sports.

A tipsheet for podcasters and listeners

We've come across a few opportunities in the past little that may be of interest to podcasters:

  • Pure Speculation is inviting podcasters to do live shows Edmonton's "friendly little science fiction and fantasy festival runs June 21 to 22. Check out the details and application form.
  • The Vancouver Podcast Festival, which runs Nov. 7 to 10, is also accepting pitches.
  • The early-bird deadline for the Canadian Online Publishing Awards is June 14. There is a podcast category for both B2B and consumer-facing podcasts.
  • Don't forget to put your podcast on the Podmap.
And some notes for podcast fans:
  • Welcome to Night Vale is coming to Alberta in the fall — it will be in Edmonton on Nov. 12 and Calgary on Nov. 13.
  • If you're willing to travel for a live show, Criminal will be in Vancouver on Sept. 26.
  • Podcast Brunch Club's June listening list is Understanding China.
