This Exchange and the next?

We have received a lot of positive feedback from the last exchange. Most (and maybe all of you) had a great time and really enjoyed the events we put on to entertain our french guests and ourselves. That the visit went so well was not only due to the committee. Lesley Brown helped organise the Ironbridge trip and the seating plan at the Fir Grove. Will Swindlehurst and John Bamforth contributed extra events during the visit.

We have loaded the pictures that you have sent onto our web site and also added in the article that we have sent to Lymm Life. Have a look on out web site and see what's there. The quick link https://lymmtwintownsociety.wixsite.com/lymmtwintown/previous-exchanges will take you to pictures from the last ten exchanges..

However ....
At the end of the year we are losing three people who have contributed a lot over the last few years to the running of the club. Our AGM is in early November. Please consider between then and now whether you can devote time to keeping the club running as successfully as it has been run  this year.

Everyone has limited time to offer the Society but if you can spare some time then you can help shape the future of the club and how it is run.

If no one comes forward then we will have no Chairman, Secretary or Treasurer.  The remaining team of Neil, Pat, Mark and Lynn isn't enough to run the club in the way we are currently running it. If the situation is unchanged in November then there will be a proposal that we close the Society.

Twin Town Stall - Lymm Food Fest

Thursday, 20th June

Jenna and her daughter have volunteered to help Pat and Mark man the stall at the Lymm Food Festival. Can anyone else help to give them a break so that they can leave the stall for a while? If so then their telephone numbers are further down in this Newsletter.

NEW DATE FOR THE BARBECUE

12:30 Sunday, 21st July

The old date clashes with the Open Gardens Event at the Lymm Festival and so we have changed the date to the 21st July. This is unfortunately the first week of the School Summer holidays but we were constrained by who was available to help with preparations. We hope that you can still make it. We will ask you towards the end of June if you are coming and if you can help.

Dates for the Exchange 2020

Wednesday 15th April - Sunday 18th April 2020

Obviously this depends on having a Society next year!

We have had a look at the possible dates for next year. There is no date in May when both the French and English schoolchildren are on holiday. We have investigated July but that doesn't fit with several families with schoolchildren.

April (11th - 19th) does provide a week when both sets of children are off school. We feel that a visit starting on Wednesday 15th April - Sunday 18th April will give most families the opportunity to participate and avoids as much as possible travelling over the main Easter holiday dates. Easter Sunday is on Sunday, 12th April.

We haven't confirmed this yet with Michel Bret but please reserve these dates in your diary.
