The summer is here and for many of us this is our favorite time of year to get out and enjoy our backcountry. We are partnering this season with many of our favorite community organizations to make the summer of 2019 the biggest trail building season our region has ever seen. The momentum is well under way and the Chilliwack Parks Society, The Chilliwack Outdoors Club, the Fraser Valley Mountain Bike Association, and a newly formed Fraser Valley Climbing Group have all been laying out their ambitious plans.

The Chilliwack Parks Society is best known for their work establishing and expanding the Chilliwack Community Forest and Lewx Qwò:m Park in the Eastern Hillsides (near The Falls Golf Club). Currently they are working on trail networks on the Yarrow side of Vedder Mountain. (Click the link to Sign-up)

In addition to coordinating trips and outings, the Chilliwack Outdoors Club is actively working on trails in the Chilliwack River Valley. Currently their sights are set on the Trans Canada Trail - Great Trail, Mt. Slesse Memorial, Pierce Lake/ Mt. MacFarlane, and more! (Click the link to Sign-up)

The Fraser Valley Mountain Bikers Association has worked diligently for decades building what many would argue are some of the best trails in British Columbia, spanning from Mission and Abbotsford, to Chilliwack, the Eastern Fraser Valley and the Chilliwack River Valley. A new climbing group is taking form to try and bring some advocacy and organization to the work being done establishing and maintaining rock climbing areas in the Fraser Valley. With hundreds of established routes, at dozens of crags, this area has the potential to become one of the best climbing areas for bouldering, route climbing, and alpine climbing in BC!
