Understanding is Love

"“Understanding someone’s suffering is the best gift you can give another person. Understanding is love’s other name. If you don’t understand, you can’t love.”

Wake Up Retreat

A participant in our recent retreat has reached out to see if anyone may be going to the upcoming Wake Up Retreat at Blue Cliff in New York. Young adults (ages 18-35 or so) are invited for a time of practice, inclusiveness, and fun June 19th - June 23rd. If you are going, Jess Pelow from Toronto is looking to share the cost of travel, if someone has room in their vehicle or may wish to rent a vehicle with her. Contact jess.pelow@gmail.com
Offering Happiness

"The first element of true love is loving kindness. The essence of loving kindness is being able to offer happiness. You can be the sunshine for another person. You can’t offer happiness until you have it for yourself. So build a home inside by accepting yourself and learning to love and heal yourself. Learn how to practice mindfulness in such a way that you can create moments of happiness and joy for your own nourishment. Then you have something to offer the other person.”

― Thich Nhat Hanh, How to Love
Our sangha has two teams helping to share leadership and facilitation of our meetings. Our Bell Minders Team are mindful facilitators for our weekly gatherings, as well as retreats, taking beautiful care of our friends in the practice including the bell. Our Sangha Care Team facilitates sangha care meetings, plans retreats, minds our library and resources, and coordinates outreach. If you are interested in helping with either or both, contact interbeingkingston@gmail.com for more information.
