Central Ohio Chapter Youth Committee update
On a warm summer afternoon, a bunch of high school students gathered in a park and discussed about their involvement with Tamil Nadu Foundation (TNF) and its charitable efforts. Topics varied: the students who attended the Youth Convention during the TNF’s annual convention in Atlanta shared their experiences; they all discussed about how they can volunteer for the upcoming Table Tennis and Tennis tournaments and their involvement in the overall TNF
activities.
The attendee count may have been small; the discussion might have happened in English. Yet, their discussion circled around on how they can help children that belong to a place where all of their parents grew up in. All of this happened without any adult direction and supervision.
A true tangible evidence of TNF and its efforts where not only the Tamil diaspora work together to give back, but the next generation is gearing up to getting involved.
Some highlights:
TNF raised more than a million dollars in the last fiscal year and sent more than a million dollars for various projects, including Gaja relief efforts, to the Chennai office that ensures the effective delivery of these projects.
The annual convention that was held in Atlanta helped raise more than $100,000
