ITC June Newsletter

Check out this month’s newsletter for news about the upcoming triathlon season, member news and more...

Membership Renewal Time
The new triathlon season membership portal is now open and you can sign up for new memberships or renewals online.

New Members

New members can sign up for the 2019/2020 season, meaning you can have up to a 13-month membership that will expire on June 30, 2020.

Existing Members (Renewals)

Existing members can manually renew their membership ahead of time for the 2019/2020 season.

Remember, membership comes with a number of perks including insurance for training and racing, discounted race entry, discounts on triathlon gear and access to coaching and training events as part of our club. We’re also one of the few local clubs offering a fully sanctioned and insured race every month of the season.

Mark your calendars: ITC 2019/20 Season Race Dates

Check out the calendar at the bottom of our newsletter for next season’s race dates including our planned ITC club races.

Remember, if you’re a club member you’ll get discounted entry to all of our club races, the only TA sanctioned, closed road and fully insured club races in the local area.

This year you’ll also earn points towards our club season point score by racing in our club races and participating in other local events.

Each club member is also expected to volunteer at a minimum of one club race (to qualify for the point score), but now subsequent volunteering will earn bonus points for the club point score. So if you Marshall twice you’ll still be competitive.

Uniforms are here!

If you ordered one of our new club uniforms at the end of the season - the wait is finally over! You can pick up your uniform from club president Jye Cajar, who'll be bringing them along to our weekly run training sessions. If you can't make these times we can arrange another time to pick up - just contact jye.cajar@itc.org.au.

Missed out on the first order of club uniforms? No worries, we'll be offering another order closer to the start of the season. Keep an eye on the newsletter or Facebook to make sure you don't miss out.

ITC Season Point Score

Next year we’re raising the stakes and refining the rules for our club season point score to make the competition more fun and increase participation. Hopefully the changes will also encourage you, our members, to take advantage of our club races and be in the running for prizes, free race passes and glory at our annual presentation night.

The new point score will work as follows.

To qualify members must:

- Race in at least 2 club races during the season
- Volunteer/Marshall for at least 1 club race during the season

Points are awarded as follows:

- 20 Points for age group first place, 18 for 2nd, 16 for 3rd and so on.
- 10 points for marshalling additional races
- 10 points for participating in nominated local races (TriTheGong, Aquathon, Club Champs)*

All points are added up over the season to arrive at final scores. Winners will be awarded in each age group and an overall female and overall male winner will be awarded separately.

* Members must nominate ITC as their club during race entry to receive participation points.

Save the date: ITC AGM and season launch

We will hold our Annual General Meeting and club season launch and skills session on Saturday 24th August. All welcome!

Stay tuned for more information in the next couple of newsletters, but this will be an opportunity to hear more about our plans for the club and share your thoughts and ideas. It will also feature a skills session and social event.
Congratulations to all our club members who raced at Ironman Australia in Port Macquarie last month. We had a huge showing from the club including: Gareth Buckley, Daniel Stratton, Courtney Thurgar, Josh Bignell, Anna Matthews, William Beedles, Ben Bell, Brett Leonard, Ross Schuback, Carolyn Dews and in the pro field James Davy.
