Memory Lane is now just $6000 away from reaching our goal of becoming Nova Scotia’s first 100% solar-powered museum. We are asking all of you to help us in this last big push to victory! We plan to unveil the completed project on July 1st (our 19th birthday).

There are many ways to donate, but the easiest is through our crowd funding site at: www.crowdrise.com/solarpoweredmuseum.

Not comfortable with online transactions? No problem! Send a cheque made out to Lake Charlotte Area Heritage Society at 5435 Clam Harbour Road, Lake Charlotte, BOJ 1Y0. Your donation will receive a tax receipt.

Want to really make a mark? Consider our “Pay for a Panel” campaign. You can do this as an individual, a group, or as a business. A $500 pay-for-a-panel contribution will give you a 25 word dedicated donor panel on our Founders Wall in the Hosking Store and a solar panel with your name on it!

An Ocean Apart: Concert by Aureas Voces - June 16th

A special Father's Day Concert for those who love music.

In this programme, Aureas Voces pairs energetic and fresh arrangements of traditional Nova Scotian folksongs with airs, madrigals and motets from Renaissance England. The Nova Scotia Talent Trust is marking its 75th anniversary by celebrating with Aureas Voces, their youngest sister organization.

An annual celebration of women’s work in the home and community. Free Heritage Village admission and hands-on demonstrations and displays throughout the grounds.

An old fashioned summer tea party in the Clam Factory on antique china, serving lots of sandwiches and dainty squares. Tickets available online or first come, first served.

Volunteer Opportunities

Father's Day Antique Car Show: We are looking for volunteers to help out at the Father's Day Antique Car Show on June 16th. Please contact Jordan at 902-845-1937 or email jarnold@heritagevillage.ca if you are available or would like more information.

Village Animators: We are always looking for volunteers to come and animate the Heritage Village during visitor season. Please contact Jordan at 902-845-1937 or email jarnold@heritagevillage.ca if you would like more information.

Painting Crew: We are looking for a team of volunteers to help with exterior painting of some of the Village buildings to give them a re-fresh for the season. Painting would happen during nice days. Volunteers are asked to bring their own paint brushes. If interested, please contact the Village at 902-845-1937.

Items For Sale

Fluorescent Light Fixtures: We have replaced all the fluorescent light fixtures in our buildings as part of our Solar Powered Museum Campaign upgrades. The fixtures are now all for sale to the best reasonable offer. Heritage Society members have preference.
