Nature Manitoba Trip List


All Outdoor Activities are free for members, with the exception of any cabin/park fees if applicable. Non-members may attend a trip or two at no cost, in order explore the option of membership. A trip's difficulty is rated using the following Trip Rating Guidelines. If you are a member, please contact the trip leader directly with any questions; otherwise please contact our office.
 
We are always in need of more volunteers to lead outdoor trips. If you are interested in becoming a trip leader please email us or call the office at 204-943-9029

Twin Beaches Hike and Canoeing lake francis

This evening event will include a walk on the Prairie Winds Trail to see a field full of lady's-slippers and other native plants and grasses.

Hike the scenic trails of Rushing River Provincial Park.  Enjoy panoramic views over Dogtooth Lake and views of rapids and waterfalls.  Some steep sections.

Medicine /poison or magic . We will identify plants that we see . If you plant identifcation books please bring them . Dress appropriately for sun and bugs. Bring water .  A potluck and BBQ will follow.

On this very full day, with a late return to Winnipeg, we will hike around the Souris area for ca. 15 km. and take in historic structures, geology and great southwestern Manitoba scenery along the way.

Canoe White Otter Lake (south of Dryden) to White Otter Castle return. This is a "plunk" trip; one portage each way and lots of time to explore. Maximum of 7 paddlers.

Hiking Rivers Provincial Park and Brandon Area

This full-day hike (12-15 km.) features the lovely Rivers Provincial Park and trail systems in Brandon, including the archaeological site of Grand Valley and the new Assiniboine Food Forest trail.

2/3 of the Gordon Lake loop (just north of Experimental lakes area).  About 70 km with 13 portages (no long ones).  Maximum of 7 people.

RMNP Bike & Hike Camping

August 31, 2019 to September 2, 2019
Car camp at Lake Audy. On Saturday afternoon, cycle down Strathclair trail (very bike friendly) to see what can be seen. On Sunday, cycle to Minnedosa River campground (about 5 km) until trail becomes bike unfriendly (leave and lock bikes). Then continue by hiking to north end of Grasshopper Valley thru old growth white spruce forest.
