What to do to ramp up your exercise level?
If you're sitting, stand up!
If you're standing, walk!
If you're walking, walk a little faster!
If you can't stand, move your arms overhead.
If you can't move your arms overhead, move them whatever way you can -- or just wiggle your fingers.
Every 30 seconds of motion is a half-minute to the good.
Recent studies show that interval training is beneficial in terms of health. So even a little bit can help.
It can be as simple as doing something as hard and fast as you can for 30 seconds. Does anyone not have half minutes scattered throughout their day that they couldn't suddenly break out in jumping jacks -- or dancing -- or just marching in place? The people that notice this "odd" behavior will just think you're more interesting now. They may even ask "why?" and you can gather converts to the cause! What's not to like about the whole office suddenly having a dance party?
