Big things are happening in Eagle this July! Independence Day is this Thursday and the two days that follow are Eagle Fun Days. It is sure to be a jam-packed weekend filled with fun for the whole family.

Eagle Fun Days starts Friday, July 5th with Family Fun Night at Eagle City Hall and Taste of Eagle at Heritage Park. Then join us Saturday, July 6th for the Fun Days Run, classic car show, cornhole tournament, Wet and Wild Parade, and a spectacular fireworks show on Saturday night at 10:07 PM. If you own pets that are scared of fireworks please be mindful of their safety during that time. Try to keep them indoors so they don't get frightened and run away. During Eagle Fun Days there will also be food and drink vendors and live music going on all day long at the Heritage Park Gazebo. Check out the City's website for more Eagle Fun Days information.

We want everyone to have a fun and safe summer. To that end, Eagle Fire Chief Rusty Coffelt, and Eagle Police Chief Pat Calley have some important safety reminders.

Stan Ridgeway, Mayor
A big part of Independence Day is, of course, fireworks. The safest way to enjoy fireworks is to leave it to the professionals. There are amazing fireworks displays around the Treasure Valley, including the Eagle Fun Days Fireworks Show on July 6th. All fireworks are prohibited in the Ada County Wildland Urban Interface. In Eagle, that means no fireworks at all north of Beacon Light Road. In Eagle City limits only "safe and sane" fireworks are allowed, so no aerials. With that in mind have a safe and happy Fourth of July!

Summer is a great time to be a kid, but it can also be a dangerous time. Hitting the road on a bike or going for a quick swim can turn deadly if kids are unequipped and unsupervised. Parents, make sure your kids have swim lessons, flotation devices and know when and where it is appropriate to swim. Never swim in an irrigation canal. When biking, make sure your kids know the rules of the road, have helmets and safety gear, and are visible to drivers. Stay safe and have a fun summer!

Eagle Police Chief Pat Calley

Join us in downtown Eagle on July 5th and 6th for the City of Eagle's 48th annual Eagle Fun Days celebration!

Accept the Chief’s Challenge!

Come learn about leadership, history, and character development with the Eagle Police Department! This program is building tomorrows leaders through weekly lessons that center around historical events, physical fitness activities, and games. Mentors from our public safety, business, and health communities will facilitate each challenge. Visit the Course Catalogue for details and sign up information.

Arts in Eagle

Join friends, family and neighbors every Saturday through October 5, in Heritage Park for fresh produce, one of a kind artisans and live music. Support your community and enjoy summer in Eagle! No regular market on Saturday, July 6th due to Eagle Fun Days
The Gazebo Concert Series is free fun for the whole family! Heritage Park hosts local musical groups during the summer that will make you get up and dance. Bring a chair, grab a neighbor and unwind in downtown Eagle. Beverage and food vendors will open at 5:30 pm and music starts at 6:30 pm. See you there!

Did you know Eagle has a dedicated water bottle recycling drop off?

#1 plastic water bottles generally can't be recycled with other plastics in the blue recycling cart. The water bottles are so thin that they often cause contamination of paper products when processing.
But, Eagle has a recycling drop off center just for these water bottles! It is in the same parking lot as the city's glass recycling drop off,  south of the Eagle Public Library. Other #1 plastics can also go in the water bottle drop off as long as they are not contaminated with other materials.
The #1 plastic recycling drop off is a pilot program provided by Republic Services and will run through the fall.
