Hello Lazies.
The Toronto Raptors are one win away from capturing their first NBA title in their 24-year existence. That’s seriously exciting for a franchise, especially after a thrilling, come-from-behind 105-92 win in Game 4 at what might be the last-ever game played at the famed Oracle Arena.
But let’s get straight to the main headline. Kevin Durant is back, well… kinda. Everything about KD’s return in the media, they’ve thrown in previous stats about how dominant he is on the floor and what a huge impact he will make for this Warriors team. Yes, he will have an impact, but I think everyone’s expecting a Superman 40-to-50 point game from the lanky fella. I mean that’s just completely nuts, right?
To break this injury down a little, Durant will be making his first appearance since Game 5 of the Conference Semifinals more than a month ago. He had his first practice on Sunday, SUNDAY! Can you do anything sport related, and perform with complete perfection, if you miss that much time? I doubt it, but strange things happen in the NBA. The main point about Durant’s return will be that he can easily score 15-to-20 points, and that might solve the Warriors shooting woes.
Throughout this series, the Raptors have displayed composure, versatility, ingenuity, unselfishness, and determination. All championship qualities that have been captained by their leader, Kawhi Leonard. Should the Raps close it out by winning one of the next three games, it certainly will represent a huge “what if’s” use case by all the Warriors' injuries. But to Canada, it will be remembered as the nation’s first NBA championship. How could the Raptors not be pumped up for this game?
Catch you Thursday. Ed
