Eid Party Volunteers After A Successful Event on Friday, June 7, 2019

We Empowered More Kids Against Gangs, Drugs & Violence During Ramadan And At Our Eid Party

"Toys Not Guns. Balls Not Drugs" Campaign Is Working In Wedgewood

Dear Friend,

My feet and legs were swollen and sore from Friday's Eid Party and pretty much from a very busy Ramadan, but my heart has been full. I am humbled and grateful for Allah's blessings, my community's generosity, the volunteerism and service spirit of all my volunteers, the commitment of my partners like you and the rise of so many youth as leaders of our community. And so are the feelings of my whole team. Our bodies were tired, but our soles have been uplifted by serving so many families and individuals in so many ways throughout Ramadan,  at Eid Party and going forward.  Alhamdulillah.

Kid's Eid Party in Wedgewood, last Friday, was a blast. We are all uplifted by the success of that event. It was an absolute fun day for all kids in the Wedgewood. We registered about 50 more kids in different programs. 10 youth leaders from the community helped organized this event. They met yesterday with me yesterday for a debrief. A committee of five youth leaders has been formed that is now writing a proposal to take the quality of the next event to the next level.

Huge thanks to our donors of MY Eid Toys Drive 2019 and Kid's party volunteers and donors. Huge shout out to Janet Van Heyde for her leadership in organizing this year's toys drive, the best so far.

Thanks to NBC4's Shawn Lanier and Rob Sneed for their awesome coverage of Friday's Eid Party. They took time to cover it thoroughly from morning to evening. Please check their coverage and send out a thank you note to NBC 4 and both reporters for their awesome coverage.

Thanks to all donors of MY Eid Toys Drive 2019, and the donors & volunteers of Eid Party. Your donations & support made it possible for us to make it a success. But overall thanks to all of our donors, volunteers and staff who have been working tirelessly for the last 3 years to bring this change to the Wedgewood community. Together we have changed the world for hundreds of kids in Wedgewood. May God accept it from all of us. Ameen.

COLUMBUS (WCMH) — The Wedgewood Village apartments have undergone a huge transformation from a community known for its violence to a community that places safety and unity first.

My Project USA held an Eid party to bring the community together.

“We’re not doing this for ourselves, we’re doing this to help out this community, to help out the kids,” said 15-year-old Abdulk Adir, who works with My Project USA.

MY Family Pantry Team Is Everything You Want To See In A Youth Team

Compassionate, Hard Working, Fun & Professional & Humble

This has to be one of the loveliest group photos we have ever taken. This is from our Eid Pantry on the 1st of June where 285 families in dire need of help walked away with a cart full of food right in time for Eid.

All thanks to the help of these wonderful individuals who vary in age and volunteer experience. We had all age groups, from middle school to fathers. Majority of them were fasting but stayed standing on their feet from 8 AM to 1 PM. No amount of thank yous will ever be enough. Thank you family!
