PREGNANCY PRAYER REQUEST
Hello Praying Friends!

We have a very specific prayer request regarding our pregnancy that we need to make you all aware of. As you know from our special announcement sent back in mid-April, we are expecting a baby girl, Lily, this September. You'll also recall from our video that this pregnancy is under very close scrutiny from the physicians due to the complications during our last pregnancy. In our video we indicated that the cervix was already beginning to "funnel," which basically means that it was beginning to open. At that point a few weeks ago, Terrah was given extra medication to slow or stop that process, which was successful for the last few weeks.

But on Thursday morning we had another checkup. The funnelling has returned, despite the medication. Terrah is 24 weeks long now, so its far too early for this to be happening. So it is now clear that the potential for an operation to prevent opening we said might be an option back in April is now a necessity.

On Tuesday morning next week (11 June) Terrah will be admitted to the hospital here in Knysna to undergo a procedure to insert a "cervical circlage." The operation itself will not be very long, but she will stay overnight for monitoring.

The procedure is a common one, and one that our physical has done multiple times. But as with any operation, and especially while pregnant, there are risks. So please pray that the operation will be successful and the recovery swift. Pray also that no infection will occur. Any time a "foreign body" is put into the human body, there are risks for infection. And of course treating any infection is complicated due to the pregnancy.

Our prayer is that after this operation is complete, we can begin to rest a bit from a mental and emotional perspective. Knowing that at literally any time the cervix could open fully, with no warning at all, is stressful to say the least. But if successful, this should allow for a "normal" pregnancy moving forward. The circlage would be removed at about 37 weeks to allow for a normal birthing process.

If you haven't seen our full video announcement, check out the video below for more details about what is going on.

In the video, we also outlined our rather unconventional financial situation. To briefly recap, due to the pregnancy, we cannot return to the US to raise our necessary funds until after Lily is born. This will create a shortfall from July to the end of the year. So we asked you all to consider becoming new monthly supporters or to give one-time gifts to help us through this "gap" time. We are praising God for His provision through you all, because we have received or have been promised 58% of the funds needed to make up the shortfall!

Please prayerfully consider how you can help us during this time. Any gift, regardless of size, is a blessing and a help to our family. Just click the "support us" button below to get involved.

Thank you for your continued prayers and support for our family and ministry here in Knysna. We love you all!
