The Carpentries Financial Updates
The Executive Council and The Carpentries Leadership team have shared the first comprehensive financial overview of The Carpentries. Upon completing its first year as a joint project, a primary goal of the Executive Council will be to continue tracking income and expenses while working with The Carpentries staff, community members and our fiscal sponsor Community Initiatives. They will aim to diversify our revenue to support the mission and long-term sustainability of this community.

The Carpentries Genomics curriculum
The Data Carpentry Genomics curriculum will be published officially on 18 June 2019. Over 150 instructors have expressed their interest in teaching these lessons in the next six months. The curriculum developers invite you to help in reaching out to the potential learners of these workshops. You can post the promotional flyer about this workshop on your department message board, circulate it on your department mailing list, or send it out to other genomics or bioinformatics mailing lists. Instructor training Team
The Topic of the Month at the Trainers meeting in June was "Teaching Demos: Knowledge Sharing". There were several interesting ideas on the call that has since continued on other communications channels. We're also excited to release the next version of the curriculum soon which has been updated and cleaned up with the help of the community members.

Library Carpentry
The 4th Mozilla Library Carpentry was joined by 63 members from 8 countries and 35 institutions making it a successful annual event. In other outreach activities, Chris Erdmann participated in a panel discussion on “Digital Transformation” at INCONECSS on 6 - 7 May 2019 in Berlin, Germany. He also delivered a talk at the Bank of Canada on the Library Carpentry FAIR pilot program with Natasha Simons.
