As you may remember from our October 2018 newsletter, a consultation process of a potential organisational name change had been ongoing for a while. After a thorough discussion the Board decided on proposing the addition of a call name to IWGIA and to put that decision to a vote of its membership. A majority of members voted against the proposal, thus closing the discussion. Read the official statement regarding the vote here >>

In this newsletter, you will also find stories related to indigenous peoples in Uganda, Mali, Cambodia, Australia and Chile.

We hope that you will find the articles in this newsletter useful and that you will help us create awareness about indigenous peoples' rights and issues by sharing the content with people that you know.

Yours sincerely - Bue Heckmann, Communications Manager at IWGIA
