Interbeing Sangha

Weekly Meeting

Please join us for our next weekly gathering, taking place this Sunday, June 23rd for meditation and dharma sharing, 6:30pm at Unitarian Place (Kingston Unitarian Fellowship), 206 Concession Street. Anne Coward will be bell minding.
Practicing for the Present

"We have to be in the present time, because only the present is real, only in the present can we be alive. We do not practice for the sake of the future, to be reborn in a paradise, but to be peace, to be compassion, to be joy right now."

― Thich Nhat Hanh, Being Peace

Post-Retreat Gratitude

Correction

In the June 1st issue of this newsletter, we shared our gratitude for everyone involved in the Peace is Every Step retreat by name, including members of Ottawa Pagoda Sangha, Kingston Sangha, and Interbeing Sangha of Kingston. Unfortunately, a hardworking member of the planning team was accidentally omitted. So, our apologies and a big thank you to our sangha member, Monica Burger for all of her work, and thanks again to everyone for a beautiful retreat.
Nourishing Love and Compassion

"We tend to think of nourishment only as what we take in through our mouths, but what we consume with our eyes, our ears, our noses, our tongues, and our bodies is also food. The conversations going on around us, and those we participate in, are also food. Are we consuming and creating the kind of food that is healthy for us and helps us grow? When we say something that nourishes us and uplifts the people around us, we are feeding love and compassion. When we speak and act in a way that causes tension and anger, we are nourishing violence and suffering."

― Thich Nhat Hanh, The Art of Communicating
Our sangha has two teams helping to share leadership and facilitation of our meetings. Our Bell Minders Team are mindful facilitators for our weekly gatherings, as well as retreats, taking beautiful care of our friends in the practice including the bell. Our Sangha Care Team facilitates sangha care meetings, plans retreats, minds our library and resources, and coordinates outreach. If you are interested in helping with either or both, contact interbeingkingston@gmail.com for more information.
