Important Issues

Registration Update

We are delighted to announce that CLCI is now registered as a charitable incorporated organisation (CIO) in the United Kingdom.

Registered Charity Number: 1182662
Registered UK Address: Horts House 22, Whitecourt, Uley, Dursley,
Gloucestershire, United Kingdom, GL115TG

We’re currently working on registering as a charity in Belgium and are now in discussions with the European Public Health Alliance (EPHA) to see if they can occasionally provide space in their Brussels office along with the use of their address for registration.

Website
The CLCI website is now live! Our plan is to feature members’ news and activities as well as European news. Please contact the General Secretary with anything you would like to see included.

European Transparency Register

CLCI is now also included on the European Transparency Register (Transparency Register No: 985693534498-91). This is a requirement for a number of interactions with the European Commission but can also be searched by the public.

Current Work Plan and Funding

We continue to work hard on funding now that CLCI is registered and will soon have its own bank account. We have four potential funders who have expressed their willingness to support CLCI with unrestricted grants or donations but the process is ongoing.

We also have two events for which we are seeking funding:

  • EUPHA conference – CLCI has submitted an application to run a workshop titled, “Life-course immunisation – making vaccination the ‘norm’ again.”
  • Balmis Institute conference – CLCI has been invited to run a workshop

We will keep you updated with any progress.

World Coalition for Adult Vaccination

CLCI has applied and been accepted to join the World Coalition on Adult Vaccination, a group brought together by the International Federation on Ageing - an organisation that also runs the secretariat.

Active Citizenship Network

CLCI has been asked to join a project with our newest supporter, the Active Citizenship Network, called “European active citizens for vaccines promotion 2019 - Improve the awareness on vaccine benefit across Europe”.

The Chair and the General Secretary of CLCI will attend a meeting of the Steering Committee on July 2nd.

2019 Manifesto for Europe

The CLCI manifesto, aimed at the new MEPs and European Commission, is being finalized and will be uploaded on our website once it’s been agreed. The plan is then to prepare a digital strategy and publicize it to the incoming European Parliament. Once the new commissioners are in place at the end of the year, a more substantial event will be held.

AGM and EiP Focus Group

The AGM will be held in Copenhagen in December in conjunction with the EiP annual conference. As in previous years, CLCI has been invited to take part in a focus group on life-course immunisation. This year’s focus group will have a different format but we’ll keep you updated as things progress.

Global Vaccination Summit
Brussels: 12 September 2019
The Global Vaccination Summit is organized by the European Commission in cooperation with the World Health Organisation. As Chair of the CLCI, Daphne Holt has received an invitation to attend and we will ensure that all our views are presented at this summit by circulating more details.
Finally, please let us know of any events, experiences or news that you want to share with other members and/or put up on our website.

Thank you for your continued support,
The CLCI Team
