Hi <<First Name>>!

Welcome
to my first newsletter

In anticipation of my multimedia solo exhibition scheduled for April 2020, I hope you will enjoy coming along on my journey in this newsletter. There's lots to learn, for me and possibly for you.
Thank you as always for your interest in my work. Cheryl

My exhibition will revolve around the native plants that grew naturally in meadows before the land was  transformed by the agriculture and city-building of  European settlers in the 17th century.

With my paintings, photographs and videos, in a personal way, I hope to convey the joy and delight I feel in the growth of the meadow from dirt and seed through to spectacular bloom.

The exhibition will be in the Artspace Connect Gallery at Neilson Park Creative Centre in west-end Toronto from April 21-May 10 2020. The opening reception will be on April 25. You are most welcome to mark it on your calendar and attend. But that's a long way away at this point!

Solo Show Progress:

I've planned a series of four 30"x30" paintings of a favourite view of the native meadow.

So far I've done winter (Winter in the Meadow), May (Lupins!), and July (Bergamot Haze). September remains. I love September!

Find out more about this series in my blog post dated  June 6, 2019  here .

"Out The Door" 36"x36" is currently hanging in the Members Exhibition of Selected Works(MESW) at the Withrow Common Gallery on the CNE grounds in Toronto.
The catalogue may be purchased and all of the work can be viewed at the online gallery here.
Every year the exhibition catalogue is placed in the Ontario Archives. Cool!

painting mountain meadow

Last week I was at Haliburton School of Art and Design. I worked up 4 paintings. One was a re-jig of an older painting. Here’s the one that is nearly completed. Just a little tweaking to do yet. The artists are juried into the program. Most are professional artists. An exhibition of work produced during the week is hung as inspiration for the school's new graduates.  Convocation was held on the Friday afternoon. Rocky Mountain Meadow 40"x30" was my contribution and is expected to be part of the solo exhibition. Mountain meadows are spectacularly beautiful!
