Bach vs Bach and the Art of Moog
Dear Friends & Music Lovers
Waterloo Festival is full of great events and we would like to bring to your attention the following two concerts:
Friday 14 June at 7pm
This Friday's harpsichord recital played by Pawel Siwczak with music by two great Bachs: Johann Sebastian and Carl Philipp Emanuel, the father and one of his most talented sons. CPE Bach throughout his life stood in opposition to his parent, but later claimed that what he learnt about music was in fact from his father.
The programme includes CPE’s variations upon Folie d'Espagne as well as a Prussian Sonata in B flat major, and JS’s Ouverture in a French Style. An international selection.
More information and tickets on Waterloo Festival's website.
Tuesday 18 June at 7pm
21st-Century Hyper-Bach on Synthesizers, Art of Moog performs the works of Bach using analogue and digital synthesizers and vocoders. Inspired by Wendy Carlos’s Switched-on Bach, and looking more like a Kraftwerk gig than a classical concert, they are made up of some of the UK’s finest harpsichordists and baroque specialists. This is synth-Bach with new levels of insight, and boundary-smashing listener appeal.
