Happy Summer to you! My month has been full of packing, travel, and spending every hour at home in the workshop making more tools.
Thanks to those of you who braved the rain for Blue Ridge Fiber Fest! It was a fun festival even if rather wet. The town of Sparta, NC made for a great visit.
I am currently on the Delmarva Peninsula visiting family and friends with my Mother. I find time among the salt marshes, birds, and waves rejuvenates my creativity.

My newest spindle style these Branch size bottom whorl are very popular. You can make yarn while the spindle hangs suspended in air, as a drop spindle. Yet it works well with the tip resting on your thigh or in a bowl spinning supported. Picture taken before the festival, the middle three spindles are still available.

This is a luxury Zebrawood on Black Walnut branch size bottom whorl spindle with a Sterling Silver hook. I will include it in a store update after it passes its test spin.

Do you find projects to be more fun and go faster when crafting with friends? I like having a reason to take pictures of my project progress. July includes the Tour de France and many spinners try what we call Tour de Fleece, an excuse to focus on spinning. As you might guess I am a spindle spinner using them for all my yarn making. On the left are balls of singles, yarn that is just one strand, waiting to be plied (made into multi-stranded yarn) on my first spindle a Trunk size Tulip Poplar top whorl. The right has mounds of natural dark Jacob wool waiting to be spun into singles with the branch size spindles, 1.5 lbs total of that wool, this project was started several months ago. At the top is some Mulberry Silk Lap awaiting spinning on a Sycamore Branch size bottom whorl spindle, this is a new silk form for me. Hopefully I will have lots of progress to share with you at the end of July, however I may not finish all of it.

Upcoming events:
July 12 I will ship all web store orders that are delayed due to my travels. I will list more new work, if I update early it will be posted on Facebook and Instagram. I am taking advantage of my laptop being portable unlike my lathe.
